I consider the staff at Heritage REAL family, and if we're being honest, family life can get complicated and/or messy, and we are forever thankful at our fortune of having our Heritage Park family to rely on. We consider ourselves winners of the quality childcare lotto, and both our kids were/are at an advantage in their transition to kindergarten without a doubt. Our teenage son went to Heritage Park Daycare when he was 2. They spend so much time outside, that he was never sick. The staff at that time created an atmosphere of calm. It was always pleasant to go inside and pick up at the end of the day. Fast forward 13 years and we had our youngest son there at age 3. Still same relaxed atmosphere, wonderful, caring staff and now they are working on new playgrounds for both sides!  (Elsa)

When I was looking for daycare for my then 1 year old daughter, I checked out 4 daycares. Heritage Park was on the top of my list because of its small size compared to some of the other daycare centres, all of the staff are ECE qualified, it’s non-profit and well… I just got that feeling that this was “the one”. What really confirmed it for me was how wonderfully caring the staff were with my child on each of my preliminary three visits to the centre (I know…3 visits, but hey, it’s my kid and I felt better doing my homework! lol) . I just thought – “wow! I would be so lucky to have someone show so much love and attention to my daughter while I work”. I have never looked back. I was constantly reassured of my decision when everyday I got full reports on how her day was, from what she ate, when she napped, what activities they did during the day , what her mood was like etc.. As she approached 3 years old, I was fairly certain I was going to keep her at the centre but I did look at Montessori’s. As I learned more about the philosophy differences, I decided to keep her at daycare. It was the right decision for me and my family. Again, I never looked back. She gets to play and learn in a wonderful environment with awesome role models (the staff) and her friends. She thoroughly enjoys the physical aspects of the program (dancing, zumba, outdoor play, obstacle courses etc.) and is learning so much from the pre-school component (e.g. abc, counting, left vs. right etc.; her language is full on!) ; she loves participating in art, singing etc.! She is one happy camper! In fact, I usually have a tough time getting her to leave to come home! My second daughter will be starting in the I/T program shortly and I am confident she will enjoy the program just as much!   (Stephanie)

“When I first visited Heritage Park Childcare Centre it was obvious there were 2 core values this centre and I shared.

#1: Outside time is hugely important at a young age 

 #2: Learning should be fun!  I noticed that the centre had the best outside play area of all the centres I had visited (and I visited many on my search).  It is very noticeable when my son does not get enough outside time to run about and let off steam.  He gets a little cranky when he is cooped up inside for too long.  This centre does a great job of getting the kids outside. There is a big emphasis on exercise for children in the media at the moment and at this age it simply means get outside and play. I also believe children learn best when learning is fun. This centre is very immersed in the learning through play methodology.  I knew early on that play was going to be the way I wanted to teach my children, particularly at such a young age.  When I pick my son up each day it’s great to hear him sing songs about the months of the year, different animals, the alphabet….. the list goes on.”  (Donna)
