“When I was looking for daycare for my then 1 year old daughter, I checked out 4 daycares. Heritage Park was on the top of my list because of its small size compared to some of the other daycare centres, all of the staff are ECE qualified, it’s non-profit and well… I just got that feeling that this was “the one”. What really confirmed it for me was how wonderfully caring the staff were with my child on each of my preliminary three visits to the centre (I know…3 visits, but hey, it’s my kid and I felt better doing my homework! lol) . I just thought – “wow! I would be so lucky to have someone show so much love and attention to my daughter while I work”. I have never looked back. I was constantly reassured of my decision when everyday I got full reports on how her day was, from what she ate, when she napped, what activities they did during the day , what her mood was like etc.. As she approached 3 years old, I was fairly certain I was going to keep her at the centre but I did look at Montessori’s. As I learned more about the philosophy differences, I decided to keep her at daycare. It was the right decision for me and my family. Again, I never looked back. She gets to play and learn in a wonderful environment with awesome role models (the staff) and her friends. She thoroughly enjoys the physical aspects of the program (dancing, zumba, outdoor play, obstacle courses etc.) and is learning so much from the pre-school component (e.g. abc, counting, left vs. right etc.; her language is full on!) ; she loves participating in art, singing etc.! She is one happy camper! In fact, I usually have a tough time getting her to leave to come home! My second daughter will be starting in the I/T program shortly and I am confident she will enjoy the program just as much!”
“When I first visited Heritage Park Childcare Centre it was obvious there were 2 core values this centre and I shared.
#1: Outside time is hugely important at a young age and #2: Learning should be fun!
I noticed that the centre had the best outside play area of all the centres I had visted (and I visited many on my search). It is very noticable when my son does not get enough outside time to run about and let off steam. He gets a little cranky when he is cooped up inside for too long. This centre does a great job of getting the kids outside. There is a big emphasis on exercise for children in the media at the moment and at this age it simply means get outside and play.
I also believe children learn best when learning is fun. This centre is very immersed in the learning through play methodology. I knew early on that play was going to be the way I wanted to teach my children, particularly at such a young age. When I pick my son up each day it’s great to hear him sing songs about the months of the year, different animals, the alphabet….. the list goes on.”
“My son has been going to HPCC for over 2 years and runs to the doors to get inside every morning. I was looking for a nut-free daycare where he would be safe and found a childcare environment with a preschool program taught by educated caregivers. He plays outside, does art projects, learns the alphabet, and is potty trained. I have no doubts about choosing HPCC because my son shows me every morning.”
“Prior to my son’s time to enter daycare, my wife and I researched a number of centres and chose the one we felt suited our/his needs. We had no problem choosing Heritage Park and it turned out to be the best decision. Our son has excelled in his social development and learning through play. He has a wonderful imagination and is confident in social environments in everyday life. The staff at Heritage Park truly cares for the children and it clearly shows in their work with all the kids. I recommend Heritage Park to anyone looking for excellent childcare.”
From Heather W:
“I remember the first day I visited Heritage Park Childcare Centre when researching daycare options for my first born. I walked into the Infant-Toddler area and knew instantly that is was the daycare environment I was looking for. The centre provides age appropriate opportunities for learning through play. Both of my children attended the centre from infancy to Kindergarten. My children have different temperaments and different learning styles. Both kids were more than prepared for their Kindergarten year. They were very successful in their social interactions, shared play and ability to manage themselves in a classroom. I found that when these pieces are in place, the academics naturally follow. I fully recommend the play based learning that the staff at Heritage Park Childcare Centre provide for children!!”
“Heritage Park Childcare Centre for me is…. having “Peace of Mind.” I have a daughter who started attending daycare at two months of age (due to self-employment) and the staff do an amazing job of meeting her needs and integrating her into a fun and safe social environment. My older daughter attended for five years before starting Kindergarten and was more than ready due to what she learned through play-based learning at Heritage Park. In addition, her social skills are excellent and are a credit to the staff at the daycare! I am grateful to have found Heritage Park Childcare Centre when I did!”
“I honestly can’t say enough good things about this daycare! My daughter started with the daycare at 1 years old and her transition went better than imagined! Now at morning drop offs, my daughter cannot get me out the door fast enough to go and play!Every day she enjoys song time, sensory activities, painting and lots of time out doors. She always comes home happy and has so much to tell us about her daily activities. All the staff here are amazing! They really care about the kids and it shows in the hard work that they do. I feel so confident going off to work everyday knowing that my daughter is in such great care.”
From Shan Tell:
“I’m very happy with this center, the staff and the program are great. My son started in the infant/toddler program and has now moved to the 3-5 side; he transitioned wonderfully with the help of all the very caring staff. I have a background in early childhood education and I can confidently say this center aims to ensure all health and safety requirements are met, and each child is provided with a warm and caring environment.
My child is very happy here and is constantly singing new songs and telling me about all the fun he has each day!”
From Heather G:
“Both of our kids are enrolled at Heritage Park, one on each side. And I couldn’t be happier with the staff and programming. Everyday the kids come home full of stories and dirty laundry! Lol. They spend so much time playing outside in the fresh air, the older kid’s side goes on walks and other outings. They bake muffins, do crafts, etc. etc.
We are very happy with Heritage Park, and would definitely recommend them”
“I love love love this daycare !!! the way it’s ran is amazing! I love that they are outside as much as possible .. the staff here are great my son has learned so much from all of them and loves them all , he always has a smile on his face and has no problem saying bye mom when I drop him off , and that for a parent is the best feeling …. to the director and staff thank you for everything you do you guys are truly amazing!”
“This daycare is amazing. I could go on about the facility, Being outdoors multiple times a day, or the fact that it is a non-profit… But, ultimately this place is amazing because of the staff. The manager, supervisors and staff have a relaxed and calm yet structured way of running this daycare. I tried others and they don’t come close to this one. My son had a hard time at daycare for months until he came here and now he loves it!”
“My son has been going to heritage since he was 8 mth old, he’s just about 3 in January. Time has flown by, the staff are amazing. When I drop my son off in mornings he runs in eager to play with all his friends, most time forgetting to give me hugs and kisses god bye. I feel Heritage Park Child Care is “our” second home!! I highly recommend them for all your child care needs.”
