We are a community-based Centre that offers care for children aged 2 months to 5 years. We are a non-profit Society, which is governed by a board of parent and community members. Both the Board and the Early Childhood Educators are committed to offering all families quality childcare for their children.
We believe that play is the basic medium for learning. Play is developmental and provides the child with experiences and chances to react to the world and to see how the world reacts to them. It is our goal for the children to develop socially, physically, cognitively and emotionally. This will help your child to develop acceptable behavior, self-control, self-confidence and compassion towards others.
It is our intent that the children will develop the skills they will need to be competent in today’s world. We value children’s individuality and respect their differences. Each and every child deserves love, nurturing, safety and respect in their day-to-day surroundings. Our educators create an environment in which each child can grow and develop at their own rate.
We encourage children to be independent. Each child is encouraged to behave responsibly. Children are not asked to do anything of which they are not yet capable. We look at each child as an individual and encourage him/her to do as much as they can. The children put away their toys, pack up their lunches, and pack up their blankets and pillows after quiet time. We promote self-sufficiency amongst the children while providing assistance to them when it is needed or requested.
